Types

  1. Congress fee

    Waiver of the congress fee.

  2. Congress fee + accommodation

    Covered are congress fee and accommodation. Accomodation will be either in University housing or the local hotel costs for the duration of the congress. The grants committee assigns the accommodation.

  3. Congress fee + accommodation and local expenses.

    As 2 but with support for local expenses. These grants will only be given in V E R Y exceptional cases.

Eligibility

  1. Graduate students and postdocs.

    Applicants are required to motivate their grant request by explaining why participation in 5ECM is important for them, and to provide a letter of recommendation from their supervisor, including a statement that the home institution cannot cover their expenses.

  2. Tenured junior and senior staff from developing countries.

    Applicants are required to provide a letter from the director of the home institution explaining why their expenses cannot be covered, plus a list of 5 recent publications in refereed mathematics journals that can be traced via MathSciNet.
